Optogenetics
During the summer of 2022, I came across a TED Talk titled “A Light Switch for
Neurons,” which introduced me to the groundbreaking neuroscience technique of
optogenetics. I was fascinated by how this tool allows researchers to induce specific
behavioral changes by precisely targeting individual neurons. Eager to learn more, I
delved deeper into the topic, and within two weeks of discovering this method, I wrote
and published an article about it on my Medium account.
Researching optogenetics led me to a poster presentation titled “Optogenetics on Nonhuman Primates” in the 7th Edition of the International Conference on Neurology and Neurological Disorders in 2023, in Italy
Among other things to raise a neuroscience awareness in my school community, I wrote an article titled “Optogenetics: Illuminating the Secrets of the Brain” in our annual school book.
